how TO MEASURE
precision Measurement Guide for J-Ride Custom Suits
At Janman Enterprises, the "Perfect Fit" is a science. To ensure your bespoke racing suit performs as a second skin, accuracy during the measurement phase is critical. A suit that fits perfectly enhances aerodynamics, reduces fatigue, and ensures safety armor stays in the correct position during a slide.
Crucial Measurement Tips
- The Buddy System: Never measure yourself. You must have a second person take the measurements while you stand in a natural, upright position.
- The “String” Method: Tie a piece of string horizontally around your natural waistline (the narrowest part of your torso). Keep this string in place throughout the process to ensure consistent starting points for vertical measurements.
- Tape Placement: Use a flexible tailor’s tape. Ensure it is snug against the body but not “pinching” the skin or compressing soft tissue.
- Undergarments: Measure over bare skin or very thin, form-fitting base layers. Do not measure over jeans or bulky sweaters.
- Stand Natural: Do not puff out your chest or suck in your stomach. Breathe normally and stand with feet shoulder-width apart.
